    Hi,

I am a board member and treasurer for the Ecology Detection Dogs Britain and Ireland Working Group, by trade i am an Ecologist/Conservation Detection Dog Handler based in the Republic of Ireland. I started out as an Ecologist with two years experience before undertaking the journey to become a CDD Handler back 2021. I now have over three years operational experience on windfarms all over Ireland. My team has grown from one working dog originally to three operational working dogs, one in training and one who assisted last year with a research project. My main interest is to work with others and to collaborate to further the use of detection dogs for conservation.

And finally the most important introduction is to the dogs!

First up is Clay my fox red lab who loves her scooby doo balls. Clay is an expert at finding bird and bat carcasses and has been with me from the start.

Taio is a lively springer spaniel who came to me app 6 months after Clay. Full of energy as they all are but with a serious nose!

Niffler is a sprocker who came to me in August 2024, ball crazy and just loves to run away with her reward and hide.

Milo is a springador who is currently in training and showing great potential.

Last but not least is the number one, Fiadh, a beagle who doesn't do the whole running around a turbine craic but give her a line up and happy days, last year assisted in looking at the effectiveness of dogs to detect Tuber spp.
